THE TRUTH ABOUT GOD AND MONEY

THE CHURCH JUST WANTS MY MONEY! In some places, that may appear to be true. Not so here at illuminate church. Not now. Not ever. We are NOT in the business of collecting money. illuminate church has one goal: To help people find abundant life in Jesus. That’s what freedom looks like - a person living in the power of Jesus.

Jesus knew He’d have competition for humanity’s heart. Since the beginning, humankind has often looked to worship created things rather than the Creator. We give worth to that which we believe will provide to us the most joy and comfort. Food. Alcohol. Sports. MONEY. The Bible offers 500 verses on prayer, less than 500 verses on faith, but more than 2,000 verses on money and possessions. Why? Not because God wants or needs your money. Rather, Jesus wants your heart because when Jesus has your heart, He can sustain your life in ways money cannot, will not, ever.

If you are interested in finding out how to unleash incredible, Biblical stewardship in the area of finances, please click the following link and hear Lead Pastor Tim Ingram share how God doesn’t want your money… God wants your heart.

THE WHY

  • This area is projected to be the third fastest growing area in America.

  • Churches meeting in schools is in jeopardy.

  • Land in our area is evaporating and getting more and more expensive.

  • Incredible opportunity from the Lord.

THE COST

$3,916,000 for 19.58 acres in West Osceola County.
$1.5M already received.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

GIVE

We ask you to pray about making a financial commitment above your regular giving.

  • Give Courageously – write the largest check you’ve ever written to the church.

  • Consistently – weekly or monthly for two years.

  • Creatively – think of non-cash gifts: real estate, boats, cars, stocks, bonds, etc.

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?

We know this question matters to people and want to be forthright in all we do. To boil it down into a few thoughts: the giving is spent to fulfill the vision of the church which includes expenses for outreach, Sunday services, staff, experiences for students and kids, and day-to-day operations you might expect with any small business. The most exciting thing is that we spend only 80% of what we receive – stewardship. We save 10% for unforeseeable opportunities and we give 10% away to our mission partners both locally and abroad. Even the church tithes!
