Disaster Relief: How You Can Help!
We have all experienced storms in our lives. Storms can make us stronger, but when you have lost everything, it is hard to believe it. When storms come, we have to have people who come along side of us who encourage us, and help us with our basic daily needs. This is the very reason why illuminate church has partnered with Crisis Response International (CRI).
Our Mission Statement says, we exist to help people find abundant life in Jesus Christ and this is the same heartbeat this ministry organization has as well. CRI is about helping people find life, not just recover from the storm. CRI strategically positions themselves before the storm to be able to help people immediately after the storm has passed. Through mobile kitchen units to provide thousands of hot meals, by being a point of distribution for relief supplies, emergency food and water. CRI has Chaplains to provide spiritual and emotional first-aid, and they have trained relief teams to assist homeowners with clean-up.
How can you help?
Simple, currently CRI is in need of additional supplies. We are asking for you as an individual, a family or your community group to help purchase some of these much needed supplies listed below:
Bottled water, Gatorade, Emergen-C
Personal hygiene items, wet wipes, laundry soap
Bulk food, fresh produce,
Tarps, ladders, hammers and power tools
Respirators, trash bags, hand tools, wheel barrels
Coolers, ice, gas cans
Skid Steer / bobcat
24′ enclosed trailer & heavy duty truck
Generators, dehumidifiers, fans, shop vacs
Shower trailer, refrigerated tractor-trailer
We have a couple in our church, Jody and Jessica Staley, who are our missionaries with CRI and they will be going into the places impacted the most from Hurricane Michael. We are asking for you to bring your donations by the illuminate church office before 12:00pm on Thursday, October 25, 2018. This will help to ensure your donations are delivered to people, who need your help and support. Let’s help people find abundant life in Jesus Christ, by helping to love our neighbors who are in need.
