One Shot at Glory.

I love this time of year. Playoff football. Games that either end in victory sending a team to another week of action or that end in defeat sending a team home for the next 7 months. All the hours of preparation, working out, training and practice are put on the line for one afternoon. One shot at glory.

What I love to look for are those moments when teammates are there for each other. Encouraging each other after a mistake or a fumble. Gathering around and picking that player up and saying "Let's go! You got 'em next time!" I love it when one guy is making a tackle, hanging on to make the stop, then 2 other players show up to help, then 2 or 3 more show up to finish the play. I also love seeing them cry together at the end of a game when they lose, but they know they have left it all out on the field. A brotherhood that shares a bond, as they battled for one common cause, one goal, one band of brothers side by side.

That is what I missed when I hung up my cleats more than the competition. The brotherhood. The conversations, the community of living life together. After years of not having that, I have now had this for the last 15 years or so. Do you have it? Men need men in their lives and we need to surround ourselves with men pursuing God with all of their heart, mind and strength.

“With all this going for us, my dear, dear brothers, stand your ground. And don’t hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort.” 1 Corinthians 15:58 (MSG)

Are you throwing yourself into your faith? Do you have men around you? We have our Men's Night coming up on Friday, February 8 and Men's Summit on Sunday, March 3, but don't wait until then. Join a Men's Promise Principle Group now.
