The Battlefield

The greatest fight we will face today is spiritual.

Whether you are an MMA fighter, business person, husband, wife, son, daughter, Christian, or non-Christian; your greatest fight is standing up to fear, self-hatred, condemnation, never ending skepticism… etc. These are spirits that war against us. These spirits of darkness go for the jugular of our lives. Their strategy is actually quite predictable. They seek to lie to us about our identity. They tell us we’re not enough, how horrible we are, that God is fed up with us, that most everything is impossible for us, and other foolishness… Basically they seek to undermine the power of God working in and through our lives.

But for the son and daughter of God (those who have trusted Christ as their Savior), He gives you the greatest weapon to war against the enemy. He gives you His presence (Psalm 16:11).

Ephesians 6:10 says, “Be strong in the power of His might.”

This statement not only gives us permission to be strong, but it says that God’s strength becomes our strength. It says that God’s power, literally becomes our power. Did you know that you can embrace God’s supernatural power against the spiritual forces of darkness? And did you know that since God is for you and with you, no spiritual force of darkness can stand against you.

You are much more powerful in Christ than you think.

To dismantle the lies of the enemy… The truth is, you don’t have to be enough because Christ is enough for you. You are enough because He is enough (Eph. 1:7-14). Not just that, you are a masterpiece that He will use to change the world if you let Him (Psalm 139:13-16). You are the light of the world (Mat 5:14).

The truth is, you are not horrible. You are quite the opposite. You are righteous because when you trusted Christ as your Savior, His righteousness became your righteousness (Rom. 3:23-26). The cross has cleansed you of all sin (Eph. 2:4-10). Because God’s Spirit lives within you, you are made able to live as Christ lived (Mat. 10:7-8).

The truth is, God is not fed up with us, He is in love with us. If you don’t believe me then ask Jesus who was willing to do anything to save you and me. He was even willing to be tortured and die on a cross to set us free and give us a life giving relationship with Him. Make no mistake -

God is crazy in love with you (John 3:16-17).

And the truth is, there is nothing that is impossible for us who believe in Christ (9:23). And everything else that Satan would tell us is actually the opposite of the massively empowering reality of being a son or daughter of God. Remember, our enemy wants to limit us while God wants to unleash us and empower us.

The real win in the Spiritual war is embracing all that we are as sons or daughters of God.

One practical way to defeat the enemy and embrace ALL that God has for you each day is by starting with - PRAISE.

I learned this amazing way to start my day through a great teacher by the name of Dr. Kerry Wood, who ministers with Gateway Church in Dallas, TX.

P - Present yourself to God - Here I am Lord, I want to embrace all that you have for me today. You have given me fullness of life in You, and I receive it so that rivers of living water may flow through me for Your glory (John 7:37). Lord, speak, move, do what you will to impart your life to me.

R - Raise Your Hands - this is a posture of submission to God and freedom in God.

A - Affirm the promises and truth of Abba Father - let yourself remember who you are as His son or daughter. Praise Him for His amazing love as your Papa God.

I - Invite the Lord to have His way in your life. Surrender to Him, because His way always leads to greater life. Our flesh’s way leads to misery and self-destruction. So surrender to the Life-Giver. - Also, invite the Lord to speak to you and LISTEN.

S - Sing to Him - Set aside a time to sing praises to the Lord each day. It’s amazing the doors in the your spirit God will open and set free simply through worship. (turn your favorite worship CD, MP3… and sing along)

E - Express your heart - Lay your heart at His feet. Tell him your thoughts, your fears, your dreams.
