A Coach, a Cheerleader and Critic walk into a...

I am sure there is an amazing story in there somewhere, but this is not a punch line to a joke; Simply, a means to get you to click the blog and see what is in here. But, I am going to write about the Coach, the Cheerleader and the Critic and hopefully you read it.

Men, we just had an amazing time at the Men's Summit and heard words of encouragement, challenge and worshiped together. Together. I hear that being together with other men was a huge take away from the day for many of us. I agree. When the Kingdom Church Worship team stopped playing after 2 songs and the men were singing, really singing, together the voices of the men filled the room and I know God was present. Psalm 22:3 “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” Matthew 18:20 reads "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” God was with us, we were together as men. What does this have to do with the Coach, Cheerleader and the Critic?

Most men are traveling their path alone. They are missing out on having a coach in their life to point them in the right direction. They don't have that cheerleader encouraging them and telling them, 'Way to go! You can do it!' They are also missing the critic, the one who tells them the truth and calls them on their junk. In today’s world, that is a mentor, but it started in the Bible times. Timothy had Paul. Elisha had Elijah. I know you need this in your life, but are you ready to make a move to add this to your life? Our Men's bible study groups are called Promise Principle Groups and we read the Word, listen to God and pray. As you join a group, you will find the togetherness you long for and I know you will find a coach, a cheerleader and a critic in the group. We all need this in our life. Find a group here: https://illuminatechurch.churchcenter.com/groups/men-s-groups or contact Pastor Ed at: earnold@illuminate.church.

We are also adding more groups, so look for more starting up soon.
