Volunteer of the Week: Amanda
This week we are honoring Amanda! Amanda has been such a loyal, and faithful volunteer at illuminate for many years. She serves in any capacity she is needed, and is a huge part of our Production Team. We truly appreciate her joy, and how she is always willing to go above and beyond. Thank you, Amanda!
Tell us a little bit about you, your family, and how long you have been attending illuminate?
I am a teacher at Celebration High School. I have been married for 13 years and have a 7-year-old son. I have been a part of this church for 12 years.
Where do you serve at illuminate?
I serve on the production team as a lighting operator. I serve because I love illuminate church and I do lighting because it gives me an opportunity to use my creativity. I see my role as an extension of the worship team. I am led by the Holy Spirit just as the singers are when I'm changing lighting cues for a song.
What advice would you give to someone who is interested in serving?
If you want to serve, there is a place for you on our team. Serving is not something you have to wait on specific instructions from God for. He wants you to serve, His word says so.
Why illuminate church?
Since I joined illuminate, I have been part of a community of people who believe the truth of the Gospel and live it out in their daily lives. My family and I have been through ups and downs in the past 12 years. The people who God placed in our lives at illuminate church have helped us through the darkest times and rejoiced with us through the great times.
